Welcome to IMAP, the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission Internet Mapping & Analysis Project.
The IMAP project represents an initial step toward developing a mechanism for the distribution of spatial data through a geographic information system (GIS). The application incorporates several data sets to generate graphic map images. This includes Uniform Crime Report (UCR) data, Arizona Youth Survey (AYS) data, and some demographic data taken from the 2000 United States Census. Presenting this information in a spatial context is intended to aid criminal justice and social service agencies throughout the state with planning and policy making.
From this page you may select one of three options:
- Overview
This section provides a description of the data available through IMAP, the data sources, and additional background information relating to how the data is presented.
- Tutorial
The IMAP Tutorial is an interactive presentation that demonstrates the basic concepts and features of IMAP. Upon completing this module, users will know how to access the IMAP Wizard, create maps, use available GIS tools, and print maps.
- Wizard
This tool takes you directly to the IMAP Wizard, which assists you in creating maps and downloading Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files. In this application, you can create maps that delineate Uniform Crime Report, Arizona Youth Survey, and U.S. Census data. You can also download formatted Microsoft Excel files that contain the source data used to create the maps.
