Arizona Criminal Justice Commission

"I believe in building a justice system that truly serves the people it’s meant to protect—one that is accountable, compassionate, and effective. I lead to bring integrity, clarity, and purpose to our work, so that every dollar we allocate, every policy we shape, and every partnership we form brings us closer to a safer, more just Arizona. I’m here to ensure that those working in criminal justice—from frontline officers to victim advocates—have the support, tools, and leadership they need to make a real impact."

With over two decades in public service, Anthony Vidale has been a driving force in criminal justice policy, finance, and strategic leadership in Arizona. As Interim Executive Director of the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC), he leads policy initiatives, engages with key stakeholders, and oversees multimillion-dollar funding for public safety programs.

Previously, Vidale served as Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer at ACJC, managing the agency’s budget, grants, and compliance. He played a key role in financial oversight and strategic planning, ensuring efficient resource distribution. Before that, as Program Manager, he developed and administered drug enforcement and crime victim services programs, strengthening Arizona’s victim compensation system and influencing state policies.

His expertise in finance began at the Arizona Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC), where he analyzed criminal justice budgets and legislation, shaping key funding decisions. His budgeting and policy analysis work set the foundation for his grant administration and fiscal management leadership.

Beyond government, Vidale has been an adjunct faculty member at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Phoenix since 2006, teaching public administration, finance, and criminal justice courses.

His career began in the U.S. Air Force in 1986 and later in the Air National Guard, where he supervised F-16 and KC-135 aircraft maintenance. His military service instilled in him a strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

With advanced degrees in Criminal Justice and Business Administration, Vidale remains a respected leader in Arizona’s criminal justice system, committed to fiscal responsibility, policy development, and justice for all.
