Public Information Office
Overview

The Arizona Criminal Justice Commission's Public Information Office is committed to providing the public and the media with criminal justice information in an accurate and helpful manner. We accomplish this through our newsletter, podcasts, email outreach notifications, social media, press releases and public inquiries.

With respect to public inquiries, we are a small agency and requests will be fulfilled in the order they are received and processed.

In accordance with A.R.S. § 39-121 through 39-128 and Arizona case law, all work-related records of this Office, regardless of format, are presumed to be public records. However, various confidentiality laws and privileges may apply to certain records or parts of records.

All Public Record Requests concerning the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission should be submitted either through the online form below or downloading the form and then submitting via email to [email protected].

Please note that the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission generally does not maintain records for other agencies or personal records on individual citizens. If you are seeking records which involve another State Agency, please submit your records request directly to that agency.

If you are making a public records request with a significant amount of information, we ask that you send one email or letter outlining each item you are requesting. This will help our agency respond in a more effective and organized manner.

Public Records Requests

Consistent with public records law, including A.R.S. §§ 39-121 through 39-161 and 41-151 through 41-151.24, the ACJC strives to provide current, accurate, and timely information to the public and the press.

The first 20 pages shall be provided free of charge. Except as provided in A.R.S. § 39-122, additional pages are assessed at the rate of 25 cents per page. If the records request involves records being supplied via a CD or other medium, it shall be provided at $10 for a CD and or DVD.

If you are submitting a request for a commercial purpose, you must disclose this pursuant to A.R.S. 39-121.03. Please note that a commercial usage fee may apply. For the purposes of this section, "commercial purpose" means the use of a public record for the purpose of sale or resale or for the purpose of producing a document containing all or part of the copy, printout or photograph for sale or the obtaining of names and addresses from public records for the purpose of solicitation or the sale of names and addresses to another for the purpose of solicitation or for any purpose in which the purchaser can reasonably anticipate the receipt of monetary gain from the direct or indirect use of the public record.

Requests for records should be submitted to the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission Public Information Officer, Molly E. Edwards.
